Masonic Temple At Fort Collins Vandalized

Yesterday, the front steps and facade of the Masonic Temple at Fort Collins, Colorado was vandalized with spray paint, depicting upside down crosses and the phrase “great tribulation is at hand” scrawled across the steps.

This comes just days after a possibly un-related incident of vandalism at a Mosque in that same community.

An arrest has been made in the case involving vandalism of the Mosque, and as of now, no connections between the two are known. Meanwhile, authorities are ruling the incident at the Masonic Temple a “Hate Crime”, in the same manner that the Mosque would qualify as such, and the investigation regarding the Masonic Temple is ongoing.

However this turns out, we feel it is unfortunate that these types of actions occur at places where people gather for spiritual, religious, or Fraternal reasons. If- in fact- one or both of these incidents was incited by the other, or by certain groups, religious or otherwise, we would find that to be extremely disheartening.

What if…. what if the entire world beyond the West Gate could know and live life according to our TRUE principles and the Tenets of our Profession: Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth!!!

Indeed, what a wonderful world it would be- let us hope and pray that it may someday be so!!!!

FORT COLLINS — Police in northern Colorado are investigating vandalism at a Masonic Temple as a possible hate crime, days after someone vandalized a mosque in the same city.

Authorities in Fort Collins say someone painted upside-down crosses and the words “great tribulation is at hand” on the exterior of the Masonic Temple on Sunday or Monday.

Police asked for the public’s help in finding whoever was responsible.

On March 26, someone broke glass doors and threw a Bible into the Islamic Center in Fort Collins.

A former Army medic was arrested and charged with criminal mischief and a hate crime in that incident.

Fort Collins is about 60 miles (96 kilometers) north of Denver.”
