We found a news item that is kind of neat, and since everyone seems to love Irish Freemasonry, thought a short write up was in order. What better posting could there be on a Saturday afternoon, than one including a description of the very awesome private bar (they have BOOKS and comfortable looking chairs), along with a tour of the Lodge in general. The building, completed in 1869, has been home to Irish Freemasonry ever since. However, the origins of the Masonic Fraternity in Ireland go back much farther, dating back to at least June 26, 1725 (but it is rumored to date back much farther, as is nearly every other Masonic body). Even still, a rich history and traditions have been documented in Ireland and are absolutely a part of our collective past! Please follow some of these links provided to learn more about Irish Freemasonry.
The following video was produced by Near TV, and narrated by W.B. Morgan McCreadie, Asst to the Grand Secretary.
And so, without further Adieu, let’s take a walk through the columned entrance, and enjoy seeing and learning of some of the history integrated into the building and her accommodations. Perhaps, for a moment or three, we may imagine that our home Lodge is at 17 Molesworth Street, Dublin 2!
Enjoy the following write up, and have a great weekend friends and Brethren.
